You can't see one of the most exciting things occurring along state highways. But it's poised to make a big difference in quality of life not just for drivers but for communities in Greater Arizona.
Along Interstate 17, Interstate 19 and a growing stretch along Interstate 40 between Flagstaff and California, ADOT has installed fiber-optic conduit below ground to help expand the availability of broadband internet. Along I-19, ADOT also has used this conduit to make technology upgrades that include wrong-way vehicle detection. And there's more to come.
With so much happening on this front, this week's episode of On the Road With ADOT features ADOT's Broadband Office. Joseph Van Galder chats with host Doug Nintzel about what's happening and what's to come for this exciting initiative conducted in concert with the State Broadband Office and under the leadership of Governor Katie Hobbs.
