The US 60 Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges east of the Phoenix area have provided decades of service to those traveling to and from the Globe area, White Mountains and Southeastern Arizona. Now, with these bridges still well-maintained but nearing the end of their anticipated service lives, ADOT has a project underway to build modern replacements.

Garin Groff, our Public Information Officer for much of Greater Arizona, joins On the Road With ADOT to provide an update.

Much of the project's first phase has involved blasting needed to create a new Queen Creek Bridge just east of Superior. That's required closures that are advertised well in advance and are limited, when needed, to midday hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. That allows people relying on US 60 to plan travel around closures and avoid a detour on State Routes 77 and 177 through Winkelman. You can learn more and subscribe for updates at azdot.gov/US60QueenCreekBridgeProject.

Spend a few minutes with Garin and host Doug Nintzel and you'll be up to date on a project that's going to greatly enhance quality of life for people using US 60 east of the Valley.
