Interstate 10 has changed radically and for the better thanks to the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project

And no one is better able to explain this massive effort and the improvements along 11 miles of freeway than Rob Samour, Senior Deputy State Engineer and head of Major Projects and Alternate Delivery. That's why he's this week's guest on On the Road With ADOT.

The Broadway Curve Improvement Project is ADOT's largest-ever urban freeway reconstruction project. Among many other benefits, drivers are seeing:

  • Six general purpose and two HOV lanes in each direction between US 60 (Superstition Freeway) and the I-17 "Split" interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
  • A fourth general purpose lane between Ray Road and US 60
  • Collector-Distributor lanes parallel to I-10 between Baseline Road and 40th Street to separate through traffic from exiting traffic
  • A rebuilt interchange with SR 143 that creates direct HOV connections from I-10

Spend a few minutes with Rob and host Doug Nintzel and you'll have an insider's view of this impactful project.
