It takes engineers to plan, design, construct and maintain a transportation system that safely connects people and empowers Arizona's economy. That's why National Engineers Week, which begins today, is a big deal for us at ADOT.

In addition to a week filled with blogs and social media posts that celebrate engineering and engineers, this episode of On the Road With ADOT features Audra Merrick, ADOT's State Engineer and Deputy Director. In this role, Audra oversees development and delivery of ADOT’s construction program while driving efforts to improve and sustain Arizona’s transportation infrastructure.

Spend a few minutes with Audra and host Doug Nintzel and you'll have a better understanding of how engineering powers ADOT. This also is a good episode if you or someone you know might be interested in transportation engineering. So please have a listen.
