Extended closure of Davis Road in Cochise County begins Monday, April 23

PHOENIX – Cochise County motorists who use Davis Road between State Route 80 near Tombstone and Frontier Road, about 5 miles west of US 191, will have to take an alternate route with the Arizona Department of Transportation starting a project there Monday, April 23.

The road is scheduled to close for up to two weeks while crews repair pavement near milepost 9.

Only local traffic, such as homeowners and ranchers who live off of the highway, will be allowed in the work zone. All through traffic between US 191 and SR 80 must go another way, such as SR 80 through Bisbee or US 191 to Interstate 10.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions will occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
