Art of Transportation: Craning to see the moon

Art of Transportation: Craning to see the moon

August 16, 2017

By John Dougherty / ADOT Communications

While everyone will soon be looking skyward when the total solar eclipse occurs on Aug. 21, ADOT photographers are always looking up. They're usually trying to capture shots of a bridge girder going up for the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway or the latest overpass being built. Sometimes they happen to capture unique cloud formations or a nice shot of the moon. Today's Art of Transportation photo shows a crane and rigging framing the moon during the construction of the I-10 and Price Road interchange in Tucson.

Art of Transportation
We think there is beauty in transportation. It’s not all hard hats and pavement. Art of Transportation is a blog series featuring unique photos our team has taken while on the road or on a construction project.
