Drivers should expect long delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for closures on the State Route 387 (Pinal Avenue) frontage road between Viola and Saguaro streets (mileposts 1-2) in Casa Grande from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, July 20, ending Friday, July 31, as the ADA ramps are constructed as part of the State Route 387 (Pinal Avenue) and Viola Street, High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) project.

The following restrictions will occur on weekdays: 

• The north- and southbound SR 387 (Pinal Avenue) frontage road north of Viola Street will be closed between Viola and Saguaro streets.
• A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
• The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.

REMINDER: North- and southbound lane restrictions on SR 387 (Pinal Avenue) between Viola and Saguaro streets continue daily from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through July. A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place and the speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.

ADOT advises drivers to plan ahead, allow extra time and use the designated detour route while closures are in place. Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
