Expect US 60 lane restrictions this week for flooding cleanup efforts

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that daytime road closures on US 60 between Superior and Miami (mileposts 227-243) originally scheduled Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 as part of a bridge replacement project have been canceled due to recent flooding in the Globe-Miami area.

Alternating east- and westbound lane restrictions between mileposts 227-229 will be in place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, and Thursday, Oct. 2 as part of the bridge replacement project. Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.

ADOT is now focused on clearing mud and debris from US 60 and advises drivers to expect delays and the following lane restrictions on US 60 for the cleanup efforts:

  • East- and westbound US 60 will be reduced to one lane between Miami (milepost 243) and Globe (milepost 252) daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 29.

Motorists should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
