Reminder: Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) weekend closures and restrictions planned May 16-19

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following restrictions and ramp closures along Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) as work continues on the widening project between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive.

ARIZONA AVENUE (May 16-19)

  • The westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Arizona Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound off-ramps at McQueen and Alma School roads as alternate routes.
  • Arizona Avenue will be CLOSED in both directions at the Loop 202 interchange from
    1 a.m. Saturday, May 17, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 19. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using Alma School or McQueen roads 

GILBERT ROAD (May 16-19)

  • The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 18. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Lindsay and Cooper roads.

LINDSAY ROAD (May 15-17)

  • The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Lindsay Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, May 15, to 5 a.m. Friday, May 16. The right two lanes of westbound Loop 202 also will be closed between Lindsay and Gilbert roads
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Gilbert or Cooper road as alternate routes.
  • The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Lindsay Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 16, to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 17. The right two lanes of eastbound Loop 202 also will be closed between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at Cooper Road or Val Vista Drive as alternate routes.

 

    LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES (Approximately 60 days):

    Westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at McQueen Road will close at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, May 11, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Cooper Road or Arizona Avenue. 

    Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Price Road to be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Dobson or Alma School roads.

    Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Gilbert Road closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the eastbound on-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads.

    Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Val Vista Drive to be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, for approximately 60 days for ramp reconstruction as part of the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project.

    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound on-ramps at Santan Village Parkway or Lindsay Road.

    NOTE: Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
