Drivers should plan for extra travel time through the project corridor as work continues
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions throughout the State Route 347 Improvement Project corridor July 30 to August 7 as paving work progresses.
ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down, follow the posted speed limit and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones. Drivers should allow for extra travel time and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
Weeknight Work
- Thursday, July 30: Northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane at the Santa Cruz Wash from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 31, for geotechnical work.
- Thursday, July 30: Northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane approaching the Riggs Road intersection from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, to 4 a.m. Friday, July 31, for paving.
- Thursday, July 30: Southbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane approaching the Riggs Road intersection from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 31, for paving.
Weekend Work
- Friday, July 31: Northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane approaching the Riggs Road intersection from 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, to 9 a.m. Saturday, August 1, for paving. Left-hand turns from northbound SR 347 to westbound Riggs Road and from eastbound Riggs Road to northbound SR 347 will also be restricted starting at 11 p.m. Friday, July 31.
Detour:
- Drivers who need to access westbound Riggs Road can use Old Maricopa Road to southbound SR 347.
- Drivers who need to access eastbound Riggs Road can use Mammoth Way to northbound SR 347.
- Friday, July 31: Southbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane approaching the Riggs Road intersection from 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, to 9 a.m. Saturday, August 1, for paving. Left-hand turns from southbound SR 347 to eastbound Riggs Road and from westbound Riggs Road to southbound SR 347 will also be restricted starting at 11 p.m. Friday, July 31.
Detour:
- Drivers who need to access eastbound Riggs Road can use Mammoth Way to northbound SR 347.
- Drivers who need to access westbound Riggs Road can use Old Maricopa Road to southbound SR 347.
- Sunday, August 2: Southbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane from Riggs Road to Mammoth Way nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, August 2, through Friday, August 7, for paving.
Project Lookahead
During Phase 1 of the SR 347 Improvement Project, drivers should plan for lane restrictions during the overnight hours and also during some weekends.
The project schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
