The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for lane restrictions on US 60 as final work on a passing lane project resumes along 3 miles of US 60 between Little Mormon Lake Road and Bell Spring on Monday, June 1, after a winter hiatus.

Drivers should expect the following restrictions to be in place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, through Wednesday, June 3:

  • US 60 will be reduced to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel between Little Mormon Lake Road and Bell Spring (mileposts 345-348).
  • Drivers will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car.
  • Drivers should plan for extra travel time, be prepared to make frequent stops and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
  • Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours; however, reduced speed limits will remain in effect.

The restrictions are needed so crews can apply a chip seal pavement treatment to the roadway. Crews will return approximately 30 days later to permanently stripe the new section of road, completing the project.
