PHOENIX – Following up on Thursday’s business fire next to Interstate 10 near downtown Phoenix, the Arizona Department of Transportation has confirmed that the elevated ramp connecting with I-17 at the ‘Stack’ interchange was not damaged from heat or smoke from the blaze.
ADOT inspectors spent time this morning getting a closer look at the steel-girder system supporting the ramp that connects westbound I-10 with northbound I-17. The inspection confirmed that the fire did not affect the girders or concrete sections of the ramp.
The right lane of the ramp had been closed overnight as a precaution, but was reopened to traffic this morning.
