60-day off-ramp closure is final one for Scottsdale area project
PHOENIX – The last 60-day closure of an on- or off-ramp for the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) widening project in Scottsdale starts Tuesday night, Sept. 2, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The southbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Raintree Drive will close at approximately 11:45 p.m. Tuesday to allow crews to reconstruct it to fit with the freeway’s wider configuration. The ramp will reopen by early November.
Detour: Drivers should consider exiting at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and using the southbound frontage road to reach Raintree Drive.
The $108 million Pima Freeway Improvement Project between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road started in January 2024. The project is adding new lanes in both directions and providing other improvements, including enhancements at the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard interchange. It is scheduled for completion by early 2026.
The Loop 101 widening project is funded in part by Proposition 400, a dedicated half-cent sales tax approved by Maricopa County voters in 2004.
