This stretch of highway will be very familiar to those that use Interstate 17 traveling to and from Flagstaff or visit Cottonwood regularly. These photos were taken on the northbound side of I-17 where the highway begins to descend downhill toward Camp Verde. The photo on the left was taken around 1969. In the photo on the right, you can see the path of the highway and surrounding topography remains the same today.

Yesterday and Today

We love featuring vintage transportation-related photographs on this blog, but we also like to focus on how things have improved and changed over the years. That’s why we thought it’d be fun to compare the old to the new in a series we’re calling, “Yesterday and Today.”
