Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers of the following overnight closures and restrictions scheduled for work on the Interstate 19/Irvington Road Interchange improvements project.
- East- and westbound Irvington Road will be closed between Landing Center Drive and 12th Avenue during these periods:
- 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 to 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
- 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 to 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11.
- 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12.
- Detour: Drivers may use Mission and Valencia roads to navigate around the closure.
- Northbound I-19 will be narrowed to one lane between Ajo Way and Valencia Road during these times.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place on I-19.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the work zone on I-19.
Delays are likely, so allow extra travel time. Proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction and law enforcement personnel and equipment.
