Expect delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for 24-hour lane restrictions along US 180 between Holbrook and St. Johns starting Monday, Sept. 14, as a project begins to replace two bridges.

Drivers should expect the following 24-hour restrictions to be in place:

  • US 180 will be reduced to one lane only at both the Five Mile Wash Bridge (milepost 309) and Little Colorado River Bridge (milepost 310) with alternating east- and westbound travel directed by temporary traffic signals and onsite flaggers.
  • Drivers should slow down and expect frequent stops and delays of up to 15 minutes when approaching and moving through the work zones.
  • A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place during construction.

The 24-hour lane restriction is scheduled to be in place for both bridges through the end of March 2027. The 24-hour restriction will remain in place at the Little Colorado River Bridge through the end of July 2027.

The project is anticipated to be completed by fall 2027.
