Plan for alternating lane restrictions on I-8 Business Loop (Pima Street) in Gila Bend beginning May 6

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for alternating lane restrictions on the Interstate 8 Business Loop in Gila Bend beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, May 6.

The following restrictions will occur weekdays from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, May 6, and ending Thursday, Aug. 8:

The I-8 Business Loop (Pima Street) between Weidner Street (milepost 118) and US 80 (milepost 120) will be reduced to one lane. Only one direction will be restricted at a time.
A 16-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
Note: Restrictions will be lifted for Memorial Day and Independence Day.

Contractors are scheduled to work on driveway and ramp replacement.

Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around public safety personnel and equipment.
