The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on US 93 south of Wikieup to expect daytime restrictions along a 12-mile section of US 93, roughly between the community of Nothing and the junction with State Route 97, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Paving is scheduled to take place weekdays from a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays through early summer. During this time, the following restrictions will be in place:
- US 93 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction (mileposts 144 to 156).
- Drivers should plan for delays and be prepared for frequent stops when approaching and proceeding through the work zone. .
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place and the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
Project elements include:
- Removing and replacing the existing pavement, including the roadway shoulders and turn lanes.
- Paving the designated unpaved crossovers.
- Replacing the existing guardrail, embankment curb and fencing.
- Repairing bridge deck joint.
- Installing in-ground rumble strips.
- Applying new pavement markings and other related work.
- The pavement project is scheduled to be completed this summer.
