The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to expect 24-hour lane restrictions on eastbound Interstate 40 near the Park Drive interchange (Exit 253) in Winslow on Monday, Sept. 21, as work begins to rehabilitate the Cemetery Wash Bridge deck.

Drivers should expect the following restrictions:

• Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane over the Cemetery Wash Bridge in Winslow located east of Exit 253.

• Drivers will need to slow down and merge over into the open lane when approaching the work zone and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.

• Traffic delays due to slow-moving traffic should be expected while traveling through the work zone.

I-40 will continue to be narrowed to one lane in each direction at the Jackrabbit Road interchange (Exit 269) as bridge work continues at that location.

The project to rehabilitate I-40 bridges at both locations is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
