Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for east- and westbound lane restrictions on Interstate 10 in Tonopah beginning Monday, Aug. 4.

The following eastbound lane restrictions will occur daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 4, through Friday, Aug. 8, for guardrail installation:

• Eastbound I-10 between Salome Road and Tonopah (milepost 90) will be reduced to one lane. Note: Motorists should anticipate a 1.5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.
• A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
• The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

The following lane restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., for fog sealing operations: 

• East- and westbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between milepost 85 and Tonopah (milepost 90) Monday, Aug. 4, and Tuesday, Aug. 5.
• North- and southbound Salome Road will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic control via a temporary signal Wednesday, Aug. 6.
• An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
• The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
