The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers in the Tonopah area to plan for upcoming overnight lane and ramp restrictions on Interstate 10, as well as a local road closure, as work continues on the I-10 Salome Road to Tonopah Pavement Rehabilitation project.
- Westbound I-10 on- and off ramps at Salome Road (Exit 81) will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, to 6 a.m. Monday, July 28. Detour: Motorists can use the westbound I-10 off ramp (Exit 69) to access Avenue 75E.
- Eastbound I-10 on- and off ramps at Salome Road (Exit 81) will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. Monday, July 28, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 29. Detour: Motorists can use the eastbound I-10 off ramp (Exit 94) to access 411th Avenue.
In addition, plan for the following local road closure for paving:
- Overnight full closure of Salome Road at I-10 starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 30. Detour: Motorists north of I-10 can detour east to Avenue 75E (Exit 69) to access I-10. Motorists south of I-10 can detour west to 411th Avenue (Exit 94) to access I-10. Detour signs will be in place to help drivers navigate through the closure.
The following restrictions will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Wednesday, July 30, through Friday, Aug. 1, for guardrail installation:
- Westbound I-10 between Salome Road and Tonopah (mileposts 80-90) will be reduced to one lane.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
The following lane restrictions will occur daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 28, through Friday, Aug. 1, for guardrail installation:
- Eastbound I-10 between Salome Road and Tonopah (mileposts 80-90) will be intermittently reduced to one lane.
