Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for east- and westbound lane restrictions along State Route 72 beginning Monday, April 20, for striping work.
The following lane restrictions will occur from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 20, and stopping Thursday, April 23, and then resume Monday, April 27, and end Tuesday, April 28:
- East- and westbound SR 72 will be reduced to one lane between mileposts 20 and 30 with alternating traffic control via a flagging operation. Note: Motorists should anticipate a 5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.
- A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph.
Delays are likely, so allow extra travel time. Proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction and law enforcement personnel and equipment.
