Traffic will use off- and on-ramps to move through work zone
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight closures of Interstate 40 at the Perkins Valley Road overpass (Exit 283) in Holbrook from Monday evening, Sept. 21, to Friday morning, Sept. 25, as work on the bridge rehabilitation project continues.
Drivers should expect the following restrictions nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
- I-40 will be closed in both directions at Perkins Valley Road (Exit 283).
- Drivers will use the off- and on-ramps at the Perkins Valley Road interchange to exit and re-enter the interstate.
- Drivers should slow down, merge over safely and expect delays when approaching the work zone.
- Restrictions will be lifted after work hours each morning.
The closures are needed so crews can demolish the eastern side of the bridge.
