Plan for overnight lane restriction on Irvington Road as an I-19 interchange improvements project begins in Tucson July 16
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight lane restrictions on Irvington Road between 12th Avenue and Calle Santa Cruz as a new interchange improvements project gets underway at Interstate 19 and Irvington Road in Tucson.
Work is scheduled weekdays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Thursday, July 16, through spring 2028.
Motorists can expect the following overnight restrictions :
- East- and westbound Irvington Road will be narrowed to one lane in each direction.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph in the work zone
Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
