Grand Avenue and 57th Drive Local Intersection Improvement Project
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the city of Glendale, will add features to improve how well drivers making left turns can see oncoming traffic at the intersection of Grand Avenue and 57th Drive. This is a Local Public Agency (LPA) project administered by ADOT. It is being funded by the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and the local public agency. These improvements will reduce the severity and frequency of left turn crashes at intersections.
About the Project
The project intersection is located at Grand Avenue and 57th Drive in the city of Glendale.
Improvements include:
- Modifying the raised median curbs at the intersection
- Restriping the left-turn lanes to improve sight distance
- Minor signing and pavement marking improvements
What to Expect
- Work will take place during daytime hours
- No full closures
- Turn lanes will be restricted to one lane
- No impact to property access
Project Schedule
The project is scheduled to begin late 2023. Construction is anticipated to take approximately three months.
