I-17 Van Buren to Anthem Way: Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Infrastructure Installation

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a project to install high-speed fiber optic infrastructure along Interstate 17 from Anthem Way  to Van Buren Avenue. The purpose of this project is to install a high-speed fiber optic backbone along the entire project corridor, connecting existing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices with new ITS improvements. This system connects Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) that provide drivers with real-time, traffic-related information, ramp metering and CCTV cameras along the corridor.

The work on the 31-mile-long project includes installation of conduit and pull-box systems, fiber optic cables and other related work.
