Roadway closures, restrictions for Sept. 20 - 26

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers on the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) to slow down, drive the posted speed limit and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following restrictions are scheduled to be in place:

Weekend Closures

Pima Freeway, State Route 51 to Cave Creek Road

  • No weekend closures scheduled

Upcoming Closures

32nd Street at the Pima Freeway

  • North- and southbound 32nd Street will be closed at the Pima Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.
    • DETOUR for northbound motorists on 32nd Street: drive west on Beardsley Road to Cave Creek Road for north-south travel.

Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway

  • North- and southbound Hayden Road will be closed at the Pima Freeway nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 23, through the morning of Friday, Sept. 27, and from 10 p.m. Friday Sept. 27, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.
    • DETOUR for drivers south of Loop 101: Travel north on Hayden Road and then drive east on Princess Drive to access Loop 101 at Princess Drive/Pima Road.
    • DETOUR for drivers north of Loop 101: Travel south on Hayden Road and then drive west on Thompson Peak Parkway to Scottsdale Road. Travel south on Scottsdale Road to access Loop 101.

Pima Freeway Frontage Road at Seventh Street

  • The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) at Seventh Street will be narrowed to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to Friday, Sept. 27.

Pima Freeway Frontage Road at 16th Street

  • The east- and westbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) at 16th Street will be narrowed to one lane daily from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to Friday, Sept. 27.

Pima Freeway Frontage Road at Cave Creek Road

  • The eastbound Pima Freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) west of Cave Creek Road will be narrowed to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.

Ongoing Closures and Restrictions

19th Avenue at the Pima Freeway

  • The eastbound Pima Freeway on-ramp at 19th Avenue is narrowed to one lane through completion of construction work on the Loop 101 bridge at 19th Avenue.

15th Avenue at the Pima Freeway

  • The 15th Avenue bridge over the Pima Freeway is closed to north- and southbound traffic through late 2020 for reconstruction and other improvements.

Pima Freeway Frontage Road at 15th Avenue

  • The east- and westbound Pima Freeway frontage roads (Beardsley Road) at 15th Avenue are currently narrowed to one lane.

Seventh Street at the Pima Freeway

  • The westbound Pima Freeway on-ramp and the eastbound off-ramp at Seventh Street are closed through March 2020 for reconstruction of the Seventh Street ramps.
    • DETOUR: Drivers can use the westbound freeway frontage road (Beardsley Road) to Seventh Avenue to access the freeway. Drivers can use the eastbound off-ramp at Seventh Avenue and continue driving east on the frontage road (Beardsley Road) to Seventh Street.
  • The north- and southbound Seventh Street left-turn bay to the east- and westbound Pima Freeway is narrowed to one lane through construction on the Loop 101 bridge at Seventh Street.
  • The westbound Pima Freeway is narrowed to three lanes at Seventh Street during widening work on the Loop 101 bridge at Seventh Street.

16th Street at the Pima Freeway

  • Northbound 16th Street is narrowed to one lane at the Pima Freeway and the southbound shoulder is restricted through construction on the Loop 101 bridge at 16th Street.

56th Street at the Pima Freeway

  • The north- and southbound 56th Street left-turn bays to the east- and westbound Pima Freeway are narrowed to one lane during widening of the Loop 101 bridge at 56th Street.

Hayden Road at the Pima Freeway

  • The westbound Pima Freeway frontage road between Hayden and Scottsdale roads is narrowed to one lane through completion of the new Pima Freeway bridge under construction at the future Miller Road alignment.
