Ocotillo Road lane restrictions in Queen Creek planned April 3-30

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers in Queen Creek to plan for east- and westbound Ocotillo Road to be narrowed to one lane at Rittenhouse Road Monday through Friday beginning Wednesday, April 3 to Tuesday, April 30. Drivers will still be able to make left turns to north- and southbound Rittenhouse Road. Some weekend work may be required. This work is part of a local intersection improvement project.

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the town of Queen Creek, is making improvements at the intersection of Ocotillo and Rittenhouse roads. This is a Local Public Agency (LPA) project administered by ADOT. It is being funded by the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and the local public agency.

About the Project

The project intersection is located at Ocotillo and Rittenhouse roads in the town of Queen Creek.

Improvements include:

  • Modifying the raised median curbs at the intersection

  • Restriping the left-turn lanes to improve sight distance

  • Minor signage and pavement marking improvements

What to Expect

  • Work will take place 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekday nights. Some weekend work may be required. Traffic control will be in place around the clock. 

  • No full closures are planned.

  • Turn and through lanes will be restricted to one lane.

  • Property access will be maintained.

Project Schedule

The project is scheduled to begin April 1, 2024, and is expected to take two months to complete.
