Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along an 11-mile section of US 60 (Grand Avenue) from 85th Avenue to Interstate-17. The project will replace the worn pavement to improve the driving experience and safety.

Project Area

The project area extends along US 60 (Grand Avenue) between 85th Avenue and I-17.

Project Elements

Removing and replacing the existing asphalt pavement
Replacing lane striping and other pavement markings
Modifying the existing sidewalk curb ramps as needed to comply with Americans with Disability Act standards

Project Schedule

Construction is anticipated to begin in early May 2026 and take approximately nine months to complete. The schedule is subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.

What to Expect

The project will require overnight lane restrictions on Grand Avenue and cross streets.
Access to property will be maintained.
The pavement removal will generate some noise and dust; the contractor will be required to follow Maricopa County dust control requirements.
ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers and on the project website.
