Project Cost: $2,400,000
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a project to upgrade lighting fixtures on existing routes in and around the Flagstaff area, including along Interstate 17, Interstate 40,, Historic Route 66, US 180 and US 89.
Project Elements
- Remove and replace existing high-pressure sodium lights with new amber light emitting diode (LED) fixtures and other related work.
Project Schedule
The work is scheduled to begin spring 2026 with final completion anticipated for early summer 2026.
What to expect:
Temporary traffic control will be used during the installation of the light fixtures and be limited to lane and shoulder closures.
