US 89 Bitter Springs Pavement Preservation

Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Navajo Nation, has initiated a pavement preservation project along US 89 from Bitter Springs north for approximately seven miles (mileposts 524-531). The project is expected to be under construction in late spring/early summer 2025 and anticipated for completion by fall 2025.
Project Elements
- Remove and replace the top layer of asphalt.
- Install pavement striping.
- Install ground-in rumble strips.
What to Expect
Daytime lane restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 6 a.m. to noon on Fridays, as needed. Flaggers and a pilot car will be onsite to guide drivers through the work zone.
ADOT advises drivers to plan for possible delays while the work is underway.
