Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation in conjunction with the city of Nogales has initiated construction of a multi-use path project on Frank Reed Road at Interstate 19 in Nogales. The project will improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.

Project Elements

  • Constructing an asphalt concrete multi-use pathway
  • Installing concrete sidewalks
  • Building retaining walls and other related work

The project limits extend from east of Ciardulli Place to east of I-19.

Project Schedule

Construction will start in June 2024 and is expected to be completed in August 2024. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers. Schedules are subject to change because of weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

Northbound Frank Reed Road will be closed at I-19, southbound Frank Reed Road will remain open. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Mariposa Road and Grand Avenue.
