I-10: Pavement Rehabilitation from Ajo Way to Milepost 272 (near Rita Road)

The Arizona Department of Transportation will complete a pavement rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 between Ajo Way and milepost 272 near Rita Road starting in early 2022. 

Key elements of the project include:

  • Milling and repaving of the roadway surface
  • Bridge repairs
  • Guardrail replacement
  • Signs and striping

The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2023.

Traffic Restrictions

I-10 will be reduced to a single lane overnights in various locations throughout the project limits between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Extended ramp closures of 30 to 60 days per ramp will be required at the following interchanges:

  • Ajo Way/Kino Parkway
  • Palo Verde Road/Irvington Road 
  • Valencia Road

Short-term overnight ramp closures will be required at the following interchanges:

  • Alvernon Way
  • Craycroft Road
  • Wilmot Road
  • Kolb Road

Overnight restrictions and closures on local streets that pass beneath I-10 within the work zone should also be anticipated.
