Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a project in the summer of 2025 on the north- and southbound Interstate 19 Canoa Ranch rest areas to install weigh-in-motion systems with tire pressure sensors to replace the existing system.

- Installing weigh-in-motion sensors with Automated Tire Pressure Screening (ATPS)
- Upgrading the existing weigh-in-motion system controllers
- Installing loop sensors and connecting the new loops to the existing cabinet
- Installing a sensor plate next to the existing loop sensors
Project Area
What to expect
- Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction area.
- Construction work is tentatively scheduled from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Expect temporary delays as traffic is redirected through a single travel lane.
- ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers.
Schedule
Construction on this project is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025 and is projected to take 1 month to complete. Schedules are subject to change because of weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
