Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is working on a project to repair SR 386 Kitt Peak Guardrail at SR 86 in the Tohono O’odham Nation. Construction began in September 2024 and the project is expected to be completed in spring 2025.

Project Elements

  • Replacing guardrail and guardrail end terminals
  • Constructing drainage improvement
  • Performing rock fall mitigation
  • Other miscellaneous improvements

What to Expect

  • Traffic control devices are in place to move motorists through the construction area. During non-working hours, both lanes of traffic are open.
  • Construction is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 
  • ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers.

Project Schedule

Construction began in September 2024 and is expected to be completed in spring 2025. Schedules are subject to change due to  weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
