Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is conducting a traffic circulation study along Interstate 10 within Pima County. The objective of this study will determine the best and most cost-effective options for reducing traffic delays and congestion on Interstate 10 at Marana Road and Cortaro Road including all intersections in between.

Study Process

  • Review findings from previous studies
  • Collecting data on current conditions
  • Conducting data analysis on existing traffic conditions
  • Developing potential solutions
  • Conducting public outreach and obtaining input
  • Developing an environmental overview and other documentation
  • Defining a preferred alternative considering the projected inflation costs and expenditure
  • Drafting and finalizing a final report

Study Schedule

  • October 2025 - Began Current Conditions Review and Environmental Analysis
  • February 2026 - Begin Data Analysis and Potential Solutions Development
  • March 2026 - Begin Public Engagement & Develop Community-Wide Survey
  • May 2026 - Begin Preferred Alternative & Planning Level Scoping
  • August 2026 - Begin Draft Report
  • November 2026 - Begin Final Report & 15% plans for construction
