Plan for overnight lane restrictions on SR 289 (Ruby Road) in Rio Rico July 26-30
East- and westbound flagging operations planned
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight lane restrictions along east- and westbound State Route 289 (Ruby Road) in Rio Rico from Sunday, July 26, through Thursday, July 30, for paving marking operations, as work continues on the SR 289, I-19 to Peña Blanca Lake pavement rehabilitation project.
Motorists can expect the following restrictions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
- East-and westbound SR 289 (Ruby Road) will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the I-19 interchange from Sunday, July 26, through Tuesday morning, July 28.
- Flagging operations will direct east-and westbound motorists through a single lane, one direction at a time, between milepost 0 and 11 from Monday, July 27, through Thursday morning, July 30.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction on SR 289 will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph in the work zone.
Drivers should obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
