SR 80: San Pedro Bridge Replacement Project in St David

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be starting a bridge replacement project on State Route 80 in St David, AZ, spanning over the San Pedro River. The work will consist of removing the existing San Pedro River Bridge and replacing it with a continuous three span welded steel plate girder bridge. Additional work includes replacing guardrail and placing pavement markings.

What to expect during construction

  • Motorists should prepare for delays during peak traffic.
  • One travel lane will remain open at all times.
  • Traffic will be shifted during construction to allow crews to work on one side of the bridge at a time. Alternating lane restrictions will begin Monday, Dec. 12, 2022.
  • Temporary traffic signals at bridge access points will be used to regulate traffic in each direction.
  • A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.

Project Timeline

More information will be posted prior to the work. Schedule subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.

Detours

For oversized loads above the 10-foot vehicle width restriction, please use alternate routes. Consider using State Route 90 to State Route 82.
