Traffic Alerts - SR 80: San Pedro Bridge Replacement Project in St David

Plan for lane restrictions on SR 80 San Pedro River bridge beginning Dec. 14

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions and delays along State Route 80 in St. David beginning Wednesday, Dec. 14, for the San Pedro River bridge replacement project. Traffic will be shifted during construction to allow crews to work on one side of the bridge at a time.

Work is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays until December 2023.

Drivers should plan for delays, be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zone with caution, watching for construction personnel and equipment.

The following restrictions will be in place while work is underway:

  • SR 80 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel between Flynn Road and Chihaverty Trail (near milepost 299).
  • Temporary traffic signals at bridge access points will be used to regulate traffic in each direction.
  • A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.

For loads above the 10-foot vehicle width restriction, please use alternate routes such as SR 90 to SR 82. For more information, please visit the SR 80 bridge replacement project page.
