Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a pavement rehabilitation project on State Route 86 from milepost 80 to milepost 90. This project is located in Pima County, within the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Key Elements of The Project Include:

  • Milling and repaving of the roadway surface

  • Replacing pavement markings

  • Other miscellaneous work

Project Schedule

Construction is scheduled to begin fall 2024 and is expected to take approximately seven months to complete. Schedules are subject to change because of weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

Traffic control devices will be in place to move motorists through the construction area.
Construction is tentatively scheduled 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will work in one direction at a time, one lane at a time.

ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers.
