Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a pavement rehabilitation project on State Route 86 from milepost 80 to milepost 90. This project is located in Pima County, within the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Key Elements of The Project Include:

Milling and repaving of the roadway surface
Replacing pavement markings
Other miscellaneous work

Project Schedule

The project is expected to begin construction early 2025 with an anticipated completion date of summer 2025. Schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

Traffic control devices will be in place to move motorists through the construction area.
Construction is tentatively scheduled 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will work in one direction at a time, one lane at a time.
