Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation is completing a pavement life extension project on State Route 287 between Coolidge and Florence starting in spring 2022.

The project will extend from the intersection of SR 87 and SR 287 in Coolidge to just west of the intersection of SR 287 and SR 79B in Florence.

Key elements of the project include removing and replacing the riding surface on the travel lanes.

Traffic Restrictions

Construction is tentatively scheduled to resume in mid-May, with permanent striping installation scheduled in mid-June. Work is tentatively set for the nights of Friday, May 13, through Sunday, May 15, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. SR 287 is scheduled to fully open by 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday.

Flaggers and pilot cars will control traffic during working hours. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes in each direction. The road will be open to traffic in both directions outside of the scheduled working hours.
