State Route 79 Rehabilitation Project: Mileposts 105 to 110
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a road rehabilitation project along State Route 79 in Pinal County between Florence and Tucson. The purpose of this project is to extend the life of the pavement between mileposts 105 and 110.
Project Elements
This project includes the following elements:
- Repair the asphalt, as needed
- Remove and replace the existing top layer of pavement
- Pavement treatments
- Install new pavement markings
What to Expect
On the two-lane roadway, SR 79 will be reduced to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel. A flagging operation will be in place to direct traffic.
ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers and on the project traffic alert web page.
Project Schedule
Construction will begin in April 2026 and is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026.
