State Route 82: Lake Patagonia Road to the Town of Patagonia (Milepost 19) Pavement Project
Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation is tentatively scheduled to begin a pavement project on State Route 82 from Lake Patagonia Road (milepost 12.3) to milepost 19 near the Town of Patagonia in late summer 2026.
Project Elements
- Milling and replacing the existing pavement along all travel lanes and shoulders
- Conducting spot repairs, as needed
- Applying chip seal followed by micro-surfacing
- Installing ground-in rumble strips
- Restriping the roadway
What to Expect
- Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction area.
- Construction work is tentatively scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Motorists should expect temporary delays as traffic is redirected through a single travel lane. One lane in each direction will be kept open at all times on SR 82.
- ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers.

Construction on this project is anticipated to begin in late summer 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in the winter of 2026. Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
