Southbound I-17 to be closed at Jomax Road July 12-15

Southbound I-17 lane restrictions and ramp closures also planned July 10-15

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra time while the following ramp closures are in place for the I-17 Happy Valley Road to SR 74 Pavement Project.

July 12 & 15 (Weekend Restrictions and Closures)

• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and Jomax Road and then CLOSED at Jomax Road from 9 p.m. Friday, July 12, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 15. 
  • DETOUR: Drivers will exit southbound I-17 at Jomax Road and reenter southbound I-17 using the Jomax Road on-ramp.
• The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive will be closed overnight from:
  • 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, July 13
  • 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, July 14

July 10 & 11 (Weeknight Restrictions)

• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and Dixileta Drive nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive also will be closed during these nights

Upcoming Restrictions/Closures (July 19 & 22) 

• Southbound I-17 will be CLOSED at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and then narrowed to one lane from Loop 303 to Jomax Road from 9 p.m. Friday, July 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 22.
  • DETOUR: Southbound I-17 drivers will exit at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and reenter southbound I-17 using the Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive on-ramp. 

Please note, there will be no planned closure of I-17 for this project over the July 4th weekend.

Drivers should use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through any work zones.
