Drivers should plan for extra travel time through the project corridor during overnight work this week.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for north- and southbound lane restrictions as work progresses in the State Route 347 Improvement Project corridor. Updated restrictions for August 17-21 are below.

Weeknight Work

  1. [UPDATE] Starting Monday, August 17: Southbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane at the Gila River Bridge (just south of Mammoth Way) nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning tonight, Monday, August 17, to Wednesday, August 19, for geotechnical work.

  2. Starting Monday, August 17: Northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane from Mammoth Way to Riggs Road nightly from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning tonight, Monday, August 17, to Wednesday, August 19, for material testing.

  3. Starting Monday, August 17: Southbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane from Riggs Road to Mammoth Way nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning tonight, Monday, August 17, to Wednesday, August 19, for material testing.

  4. [UPDATE] Starting Tuesday, August 18: Northbound SR 347 will be narrowed to one lane at the Gila River Bridge (just south of Mammoth Way) nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday, August 18, to Thursday, August 20, for geotechnical work.

Project Lookahead

Daytime and overnight lane restrictions will also be in place the weekend of August 22. More detailed information will be provided as the construction schedule is finalized.

ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down, follow the posted speed limit and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones. Drivers should allow for extra travel time and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

The project schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
