This alert adds westbound overnight closures on Duval Mine Road and extends the restriction dates through Nov. 20

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for overnight closures on east- and westbound Duval Mine Road between the Interstate 19 frontage road and Abrego Drive from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, Nov. 8, through Friday, Nov. 20, as an interchange improvement project gets underway.

Motorists can expect the following restrictions:

  • Eastbound Duval Mine Road will be closed from just west of the I-19 frontage road to west of Abrego Drive beginning Sunday, Nov. 8, through Friday, Nov. 13.
    • Detour: Drivers can use Esperanza Boulevard (exit 65) as an alternate route.
  • Westbound Duval Mine Road will be closed from west of the I-19 frontage road to west of Abrego Drive beginning Sunday, Nov. 15, through Friday, Nov. 20.
    • Detour: Drivers can use Sahuarita Road (exit 75) as an alternate route.
  • A 35 mph speed limit will be enforced in the work zone.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
