Positions and Career Path

Highway Operations Worker

H2H serves as an entry point to the Highway Operations Worker position. This role involves essential duties such as operating vehicles and equipment, pavement and landscape care, and roadside repairs. It is the first step in a clear career path for the Highway Operations Technician series, with opportunities for promotion to Technician I, II and III upon completion of mandatory training and positive performance evaluations.

Program Structure and Timeline

The H2H program is a two-phase process, starting with the Initial Program Period, which focuses on foundational training, basic skills, hands-on experience, and concludes with a Readiness Assessment for an Entry-Level Recommendation. This is followed by the Entry-Level Placement and Evaluation Period, where the worker receives coaching and monitoring, based on satisfactory performance.
