2025 crash data shows decrease in traffic fatalities for third straight year
Crash data from 2025 shows a decrease in traffic fatalities and crashes across Arizona roads for the third straight year.
That’s a positive step in the right direction, but even one death is one too many, and there is more work to be done to prevent life-altering crashes on our roadways. The data shows that speeding, failure to use a seatbelt or helmet, and impairment are leading factors in traffic fatalities, crashes and injuries.
These types of crashes are preventable.
At ADOT, we work every day to build and maintain Arizona’s state highway system and collaborate with partner agencies to improve safety to get Arizonans where they want to go. But we can’t do it alone. Drivers need to choose not to speed, not to drive impaired and not to drive distracted. That’s how we’ll see big gains in reducing the number of preventable crashes and fatalities.
Roadway safety depends on every single one of us. So, let’s all do our part so we all make it safely to our destinations.
