MVD employees step up to help during the Thanksgiving holiday
As families and friends gather to celebrate the blessings or good fortunes of the past year, ADOT MVD employees wanted to make sure other members of the community were also able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
As part of the MVD Community Connections efforts, several office locations across the state organized food donation drives to help out in their communities this Thanksgiving. Those donations were delivered last week so those organizations could provide a delicious meal to those less fortunate.
The Casa Grande MVD office collected enough food to support several families through Caring Hands of Pinal County.
The Nogales MVD office donated a dozen frozen turkeys to Our House, Nuestra Casa, a shelter for Domestic Violence. The ladies from the shelter drove away thankful for a full trunk of donations that will help them provide a holiday meal and comfort to their constituents.
The Phoenix West MVD and call center employees worked together to collect donations to help the Phoenix Rescue Mission provide a Thanksgiving meal and beyond. MVD employees downtown also collected food and added it to the ADOT donation drive benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank.
The Community Food Bank of Tucson received a van full of food donated by employees at the Tucson Regional, Contact Center and Support Services offices while Tucson East employees collected food for the Interfaith Community Services in Tucson.
Thanksgiving is about gratitude, togetherness, and giving back to the community, and for the fourth year MVD Community Connections employees and their families helped make sure others in the community can share in those same experiences through a hot, delicious meal.
The MVD Community Connections team is now looking towards the next holiday to help out. MVD locations are already collecting gifts, clothes, food and more throughout the holiday season to spread a little of that Christmas cheer and holiday spirit within each community.
