A national spotlight for ADOT's partnership with public universities
We're more than a year into a research partnership with state's three public universities through the Arizona Transportation Institute (AZTI). The goal is keeping ADOT at the forefront of innovation, nurturing a new generation of transportation professionals and supporting Arizona’s economy.
Today I'm pleased to share the video below in which ADOT Director Jennfer Toth explains this innovative relationship and its goals. It's by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), a national nonprofit group that represents and supports state departments of transportation.
Through the Arizona Transportation Institute, faculty submit proposals to conduct transportation research with an emphasis on collaboration among universities. This collaboration aims to foster innovative transportation technologies, planning methods and engineering approaches that can improve Arizona’s transportation system and create better communities.
"We're looking at safety, we're looking at planning, we're looking at operations, mobility, using AI -- just very exciting, fun stuff," Director Toth says in the video.
Everything we do at ADOT is for the benefit of Arizonans. And we're always proud to share with colleagues around the nation ideas that advance our vision of safely connecting people and empowering the economy. I commend this brief video to your attention.
